BACKGROUND
About
Shantera Chatman founded the Annual Women's Empowerment Conference in 2008 after volunteering for over a year at a local women's shelter. The attendees of her Assertiveness class asked her to consider having a conference so they could continue hearing her down-to-earth message and bring their friends. Before she knew it, the conference had become a movement that provided women with resources to enhance every aspect of their lives. Once Shantera realized how strong the empowerment message was to women in the community, she took steps to carry the message of empowerment beyond the conference to women throughout the year with seminars, inspiring emails, speaking engagements and now scholarships and publications.
The Chatman Women’s Foundation is an organization of community leaders who come together for professional and personal development of women and our society as a whole. The premise of the TCWF stems from the idea that the synergy of society is a direct result of the overall health and wealth of the woman. TCWF seeks to foster a networking environment fit for personal and professional growth. Women everywhere are building strong businesses, going back to school and raising their families with little to no help. We are here to help. We encourage, empower and stand with women that want more. More for themselves and more for their families. Every year the TCWF mentors and teaches professionals and non-professionals alike through enrichment seminars and networking events.
